    Goats top of the south?

So got a ate coming up from the deep south and he is KEEN on finding some goats, to the point where is was thinking of crossing the ditch and finding some up north.

I figure there has be a few spots around the top of the south to save the ferry ticket. Anyone got any suggestions? Looking like the first two weeks of June. We are both running 308s so happy shooting out to 300m

Tried kaikoura, only found half a dozen, Leatham is an area I want to go back to and explore I'm happy doing reasonably big day walks but think my mates going to be lazy (eaten to much nice home baking) will have a look at the other spots on a map.

I was up Kaikoura during the roar and have to say the only place I saw goats in abundance was on private land

Funny enough that was the sort of thing I was looking at doing for a rupicapra.
I just thought it was going to be a mission to do a near 3 hour drive just for goats
