Thread: Good places to hunt deer and chamois for new hunters

Me and my mate are looking at going on our first hunting trip in a few weeks. This will be our first hunting experience off the old mans farm. We are looking for a DOC block that we can stay on for a few nights and have opportunities to hunt deer and chamois. Somewhere in Otago southland or lower half of Canterbury would suit best. Open to any advice

North Mavora is popular for finding deer and chamois in the same area. Haven't actually hunted there myself though.
