    Good spot light?

    Hi Guys,

Has anyone got some advice on spotlights? Mine is a bit old and could do with replacement.

HID seems to be all the rage at the moment but have the price tag to match. I only want it for possoms and rabbits so don't need it to be able to land air craft.

Or am I better to upgrade the bulb??

    Your thoughts please.

A torch and a couple sets of batteries would be the way I would go... I have a Maxtoch, blows away my liteforce 170... See the Maxtoch thread on here
If it's not a first round hit you need to practice more

What kind of distance are you getting from the torch?

Always needing batteries on hand every couple of hours I think would get to me, I like the plug into bike and go option so I have light all night from bike battery

Get an HID Lightforce if that's what you're after.

Literally hundreds of metres... Haven't really stretched mine out but it would say you could I'D a deer at 400m comfortable. Rabbits etc well over 200m...

Each to their own regarding battery change/hassle, but I have "seen the light" and won't be going back to the old liteforce setup

    Good spot light?

I lasered the base of a tree I could see plain as day at 500ish with my dereelight x search.
It was misty clearing weather on the coast and it was reasonably bright.
Would id a deer heaps further.
Torches have come a long way and they are way more practical than a tethered light source.

Whatever you go for, don't lend it to your brother as it will come back with at least one screw for the scope mount missing
