And the GAC can't get a couple of mill funding, go figure.

Had a forest & bird chick bang on the door last week asking for money, I asked have you spent much time in the back country-no, have you seen an animal die from 1080-no, do you realise traces were found in trout after doc saying that couldn't happen-no, what about the bykill, keas, rock wrens, native birds, etc how does killing what your trying to save work?
The scary thing is she said most folk in the neighbor hood had donated a few dollars, I'll give them there due they are organised

You have to hurry up else it will take a lot of digging to get past that wall

Nothing is tough about having a 70 lb bow and looking like an uncoordinated praying mantis while trying to draw it back.

The old man bought his farm in the early 90's and has had a full time night shooter working 5 nights a week from day 1. Over 20 years on more than 60000 rabbits have been knocked over along with hares, possums and all sorts of other little creatures. The numbers of pests is significantly lower than they were back then but they'll never be gone entirely and if they stopped shooting them they would be a problem again in a very short period of time. It's completely unreasonable to think that they could all be exterminated from the whole country in around 35 years! It'll end up being a waste of time and money I reckon

I guarantee it is part of their agenda.

These deluded green pricks need to eat some 1080 themselves imo. They have no clue as to what they are doing and spending money that will be way more productive, elsewhere. Nz will never be what it was before pakeha arrived. But these stupid idealists still have a say and spend tax payers money by the millions just to fail. When are people going to wake up?

I am not either for or against 1080. But I am against flogging a dead horse with the publics money.
Not sure how pakeha came into this? Maori introduced rats too lol

There is a slightly conical shaped building in Wellington full of rats.

I think they're dreaming if they're planning on using chemical agents.

The only way I can see this working is if they use some sort of biological method.

Boffins overseas have genetically modified Mosquitos so that all the offspring are male.

I'm no biologist, but I wonder if a similar thing can be done to rodents/marsupials through gene editing.

From what Im reading that is one of the objectives, to create a new scientifically developed method of animal control. I too hope to see a biological form of control rather than a chemical one.

The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds

That Maggie Barrys the sales women, just listened to her on the MH show coming to work, she stumbled along, but the one thing I picked up on is that DOC is the best in the world at killing pests, their advice is sort by other countries all over the world! Im starting to get a grip on why there are no trout in Taupo! farking DOCs in control.
