If you ''check out'' the area you intend to go to prior to going there, the phone will remeber the map image and store it in your phone...then the GPS feature is sweet.

However if you don't do this and there is no reception - then all you'll be looking at is a dot on a blank screen. Which is what I made the mistake of doing ONCE!
