here's a novel idea for all you south islanders. take me out hunting and the first one to help me get my first deer without killing me gets a shiny new 10 cent piece!!!!! just kidding but if there is anyone in the middle of the south island that wouldn't mind showing me how it's done It would be much appreciated. I have been out a few times but no luck even seeing decent sign. don't know where I'm going wrong

Oh SH it is hard for me to hold back the myriad of comments that post invites. Some on here will be helpful I am sure. Others I fear will not be so kind and will make comments like "open your eyes" and "there are no deer at McDonalds" but seeing as how I am trying not to take the piss out of anyone today (most particularly anyone in the South Island ), I will just shut up and leave you to the forum members that have far less discipline than me.
Savagehunter, if you ever find yourself in Hawkes Bay (north island) i can get you onto Sika no problem.
Bush hunting them just off the river terraces is great fun and easy to learn.

Long time ago I read a story in one of the hunting mags about an old timer that got back into hunting with his sons/mates. They would walk the miles and due to his age/fitness he would mooch near the hut. He said he shot more deer than before as he would just sit on his arse and wait for them to come along.
None yet vietnamcam but heading out on Saturday to see how I go.

I'm gonna head out next week during the week. I'm not fat but not skinny either, just need enough fitness to get up a small hill and ill be grassing most of the day.
