A friend and I have been waiting on our visitors firearms license to be approved. We haven't heard anything and still want to go hunting 4/14-4/28. Are there options to hire someone to show us around and hunt tahr and chamois? What would the cost be? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Look on the net,there's quiet a few outfitters in the South Island that would take you out on the hills.
Ive had this issue with a few people I know coming too NZ. The FLA are struggling to get permits done in time. Both lots got their permits a few days before they were due to fly out. If you havnt heard anything negative yet, its likely they will still arrive. Dont be scared to give them a ring either.
The prices are Staggering! Im not saying that's wrong. Its just Id imagine for many overseas hunters, as it is for many NZ hunters, a professional guiding company is out of reach.Quote:
