I don't think there's anything wrong with it. At the end of the day, it's all about getting out into the fresh air and having fun.It could be a great way to learn tips/tricks from someone more knowledgeable too.
As far as being guided onto 'trophy' quality animals by a guide, and then writing about it for magazines etc - in that situation, I think the decent thing to do would be to credit the guide for being part of the equation. As it wasn't solely through your own efforts that you got onto the animal.
