Thanks Grey Kiwi. I realise there will be a wide variety of opinions, but I imagine that bench rest enthusiasts like yourself will have thought carefully about what happens to their bores.
I got some Hoppes because I was a bit paranoid about having copper fouling in bores that I wanted to shoot soft lead through. It certainly seems to work as claimed. However over the fifty odd years I've been a legal gun owner, I've never experienced a problem with copper fouling that I've been aware of. I have experienced leading in my .357 magnum, but that only happened when I pushed the velocity up to the limits.
I've never looked for Kroil, but it is worth investigating now that you've mentioned it. I've had good experiences ordering from Delta Mike.
