    Hardy's (HRE) Suppressor problem

    Hi guys
I have a problem with my HRE suppressor. After a hunt on a wet day I didn't bother to clean my suppressor. Now after a week when I looked inside there is white fungus like growth. I contacted HRE and they said it is moisture reacting to something(don't know the suppressor material or carbon). Anyone know what exactly is it??? They said I have to keep it on the hot water cylinder to make it completely dry and use the bore brush to clean and apply some inert oil(non flammable). Is gun oil inert???? Any one else had the same problems??? Do you keep the suppressor always covered??? Any regular suppressor cleaning????

    Thank you very much

it would be moisture reacting with the salts, and or alumninuim inside. I don't think oil is inert as such. why not brush it dry?
