Has the price of cartridges gone up?.

Cripes, I could have sworn the last packet of Winchester Deer Season I bought for the 6.5 creedmoor was around $89, that would have been maybe 4 months ago.

I've just been into H&F and a pkt of 20 is now $115!. I came out with some Hornady American Whitetail for $79. I only wanted some as I'm thinking of heading to the range tomorrow.

Correction: now that I remember I think they were $109 last time.

Makes reloading all the more worth it. Don't have to worry about ammo prices (although components are going up as well), just grab what I have made up out of the cupboard.

The last factory ammo I bought was
Norma 200 grain ppc .308, at $19 per packet.
At the time, I was an apprentice, making $94.26 per week....

good comparison there, pretty much cheaper these days as an apprentice will make 800-1000/week so at 100 odd bucks a pack for some mid range ammo that's around 10% today compared to 20% back in your day.everything seems expensive theses days and it is for us in nz but things are much easier these days with how much we get paid and the amount of work available for everyone out there.

Just paid $480 for 3x boxes of Hornady 200grn ELDX for my 300WSM. $8 per round makes the eyes water but man do they flatten deer so worth every cent.

How many rounds to sight in your gun. Crikey that is expensive. Loading 303 for my sons mate. That factory ammo is not cheap. Loaded him 100 rounds of 308 as he has 2 young boys.

What’s the going rate for 22. Power Point?
H&F have $160 for a brick, last one I bought (a few years back mind you!) was under $100.

Gee I miss the good ole days of 5 rounds of .22 or 3 rounds of shotshells for a rabbit tail.
Used to cash in the 10 months worth of tails just before opening of duck season. Used to get a couple of slabs worth of shotshells usually. Rabbit board ammo.
Even before my time Possum ears would get 3 303 bullets I think.
Family members wouldn't drive past a road kill without stopping and grabbing another set. Always kept shears in the car for that reason.
The last box's of 308 super performance I bought were $105 each. Ouch.
