Finally got a pic of him. Saw him a lot in the velvet and a couple of times hard but never in the right place

@7mmwsm Yeah, my camera has been out for a few months. It was August.
He will be well into the velvet, and the scary thing is that a boundary property is doing a helicopter cull because of numbers so my fingers are crossed that they don't get him. Ive sent the cocky where I hunt the pic, and asked if he would mind giving the neighbours a heads up that he is around and maybe tell the chopper to leave any big velvet. Worth a try.
Huh! They won't let you shoot, now they cull?
Real guns start with the number 3 or bigger and make two holes, one in and one out
Be interested to hear how it affects your block tahr.
The choppers took 170 animals out of our hunting block over winter with no affect on the ability to always see animals.

The neighbours have shot 90 the last 2 years and reckon they can't make a hole in them.
I think you are correct @BRADS. There's a huge catchment so what ever they take will soon be replaced I expect.
Here's another. Bit of potential here. Date and time incorrect. It was this August/Sept.
I don't think any of those are the "Big Boy" though he is (was) a standout.
Yes looks to be very promising if he's anything like that tangled wire stag he will be a beaut.
Whatever happened to the good old meat hunter we knew and loved?
Cracker head , hope you get him.
