    Heaviest Red stag...

What are the heaviest weights - hung- for a Red Stag? In particular in the Kaimais-Mamakus?

I tried to carry one out by horse back from the back of my place in the Kaimais and it was too heavy and rolled the horse. Ended up having to make two trips...$260 worth of velvet

Impressive! I friend of mine shot a very large 13 pointer in the Mamakus recently- he swears it weighted in at 170kg on the hook- something a few people have scoffed at-- I am waiting on verification... in the meantime I was just wondering what people have been pulling out of that neck of the woods

When there was a deer works on the Tauranga side of the Kaimais at least two Wap x escaped into the bush...that pushed the weights up a bit

My mates boy shot an 11 off the back of a farm up Gisborne way, weighed in @ 150kg on the hook. Came 3rd in a local competition with the heaviest being 180kg. These animal will all be eating grass for sure so can put on condition but still, 180kg.

Thats why I like hunting japs

Thanks for the comments- confirming that it is not impossible for such large weights- though not common

Got one this year that would be very close to 180 kg if not over, they are impressive when you see them up close.
1000yds is fun, 1500yds is getting interesting, 2000yds is exciting, 2500yds will blow your mind

Over 180kg? would have to be a farm stag to get it out to weigh it?

I have got some big stags but most of the bigger body ones where on/near farms "off the good grass" an some big boys on doc land but biggest that i have weighted on doc land was 127kg an she was a long carry just not worth it but was for a comp an they have to be whole so you step it up a notch

That stag in the roar photos but the one in trailer went 172kg but again off back of farm land so dont count
The misses shot the velvety but never weighted that......
