Heli hunt with mum sometime around April/June

Hey guys, mum's offered to pay for a helicopter ride for us to go for a hunt together, real keen since I've never been on one!
However I'm not sure what sort of general area to head to, just hoping for something holding good animal numbers (tahr/deer maybe chamois). As you may have seen on the videos I'm not much into trophies but a nice succulent eater or two would be awesome, and a few animals to stalk with mum would be fun. Plus I guess it makes sense to go somewhere it would be hard or impractical to get to by foot.
Any advice on general areas to look into and maybe recommended heli operators would be much appreciated! Cheers, Tasman

Oftentimes the sheer beauty of a place sets that hunt up on a pedestal, look for a spot that’s as remote and visually stunning as possible, and go there. Any animal is a bonus and not really the reason you’re there.

I have taken mum on a few hunts now and it’s a different dynamic, she loved the time spent, and noticed a lot of things that were important to her.
You quite quickly realise you’re going there for her.

What an awesome opportunity Tasman, I took my Dad hunting a few times, he is well into his 70s (very fit especially for his age) managed to get him onto a goat on the West Coast (he hadn't handled a rifle since basic training during conscription for Vietnam).
He witnessed me shoot several deer but could never spot them with enough time to shoot one (let alone see them alive before I shot them).
Finally managed a successful hunt with him 2 years ago, by successful I mean he was able to see and watch the Deer for some time before I shot it (he's not much into shooting, especially beyond 100-150yards) Anyway what I realized in hindsight it was more about being out there with him just being mates. Dad's mostly deaf and has poor eyesight but he was more than willing to push way out of his comfort zone to spend time with me and that meant more than where we were.
All that aside I hope you find somewhere awesome for your Mother/Son hunt....maybe a baking segment with Mum on the video if you do one

I guess what I'm trying to say is don't get to hung up on where and focus on who and why (I'm sure that's not lost on you )

Just sent you an overly long PM, but I don't think you can receive them yet. Let me know when you can, and I'll resend.

@Brian, that's a great recommendation, looks real pretty on the map!
@IamHackmeat it's a great name 😂, reckon I'll walk into top Lawrence one day.
@dannyb yes it'll be great to spend that time with her! Awesome you can do that with your dad too. Mum's an awesome cook so I'm sure we'll concoct something wicked! Great advice cheers, definitely not lost on me, I love spending time with my parents while I still can , just want it to be a special trip!

Haha when we were trying to get the attention of the stag my brother in-law shot last roar on private, we had got to the point where we had almost started yodeling to get it to stand up! Scott flew over and as soon as the chopper was out of sight it stood up and boom
