    helicopter

    Hi guys

Been trying to find someone that will do a fly in to the upper Rakaia. Have asked Tim at Double Hill but he doe's not do that anymore. Apart from mt hutt helicopters is there anybody else that will fly in?

    You can pm if needed.

    Thank you

I imagine anyone would fly in there if you paid them. Mt hutt is probably closest these days but might be expensive

Probably easier/cheaper to just fly from the other side, Anderson or James Scott

I doubt crossing the main divide would make a trip easier

We looked into that a while back and was going to be very costly out of Messy. Couldn’t find better than Mt Hutt

As of last year Tim at Double Hill was still operating his machine but flying for Mt Hutt heli when they needed him. He was overseas when we went in unfortunately. Ring Mt Hutt and see if you can drive up to Double Hill and start from there rather than Alford Forest

Thanks guys, think with the cost I might end up just flying in and around the west coast.

Anderson’s would be the best bet, but it can be hard to get over the divide

I found Mt Hutt to be bloody expensive compared with other companies, but then up into the Rakaia you're pretty limited.
James Scott will be a lot cheaper
