    Help with Chamois/Tahr hunt

    Hi guys

Ive never hunted Tarh or Chamois, however in the next month or so i might be able to get away for a weekend maybe 3 days so i thought id fly down from the north island and have a crack, now i cant get enough guys to commit to hire as chopper so i want to walk in instead, but seeing as ill only have 2-3 days i dont really wanna do a full day walk in.

Not after a giant set of horns, just want to shoot a Chamois and if they are around then ill try for a Tahr.

Where would you suggest i go? I was just gonna walk up the Jolly for say 2-3 hours then start huntintg but it seems that cullers been hammering it.

    Cheers

I'd be keen to join if you can withstand a newbie, I'm free most weekends december / early january. Christchurch based but would not mind driving a few hours.

Hey, provided you are not after a 14+ inch bull, there are plenty of options for a few tahr. Will be 2 to 4 hours drive from Christchurch in most cases and some riverbed walk and possibly some steeper climbs here and there.

Feel free to ping me a message and I could poke you the direction of a few animals. It will be public land and will be competing with other people too.
