    Help with ideas

Hey guys looking for ideas please. Mrs is coming on her first hunt with me since before having our kid and we have been quite limited on time as can only leave auckland Friday night and have to be home by Sunday arvo. I have spots but they require big walks which basically cuts hunting down to a couple hrs on the Saturday which is not worth it. Not really to sure about February hunting. Any suggestions for within 5hrs drive and sub 3hr walks? Was going to do ureweras but that has been spoiled and nzda waikato are doing a group hunt to piropiro flats.
Happy to return favors with spots for hunting or diving/fishing.
    Appreciate any help guys

Yeah mate that is probably number 1 at the moment but I don't like that place as have terrible luck, think I have seen 1 animal in there. Shoot them at other well hunted places just something about there I cannot work out

slow down...till going too slow, then slow down more.
Ive hunted there 3 times...saw over dozen animals and shot 2 on my best trip in..one on road driving in,one with loaded packs coming out. that was 30 years ago and numbers have only gone up since then.and its one of only two places in NZ where my internal compass goes haywire.

If you want to do Thompson's in the Kaimai's I can give you a spot off the road to camp.

One way. Have the option of basing out of taupo or possibly rotorua/tauranga to cut the drive time down

What about Clements Rd but walk up the Te Iringa track to the old hut clearing and camp there. Walk to clearing is about 75min. Plenty of hunting on the north face of Te Iringa just walk another 20min up the track and drop to the right. Will be plenty of water about at present.
