Thread: Help! Need a spot to check zero pre hunt next week

Hey all, looks like we will be OK for our annual May fly in, but as we are due to go next Wednesday, I won't have access to the range to sight in/ check zero. Would probably only need about 5 shots. Anyone have a spot in the bay of plenty that could work?

Would rather not do it at the hut as the area has been undisturbed for 6 odd weeks, and want to make the most of this. Failing that does anyone know what the status is of the Taupo range and level 2? Tect range is closed AFAIK.

Our NZDA range is supposed to be open in level 2, so I imagine Taupo would be.
I think theres a honesty box there, from memory.

I’m in Rotorua and can sort a spot for a five shot check if wanted. Week days are best atm however.

Where do you BOP guys shoot load development and sight in rifles, I'm not aware of any shooting range close to Whakatane where I am?

I am about an hour away from Tauranga over the hill, bang away all day if you want to...6.5 Creedmoor was sighted in here yesterday, natural light and slight breeze should have cleared any contamination.

Rotorua NZDA has a excellent range at Lake Tarawera. Stopped my membership because of health issues but thinking of renewing it again

Think the nzda range closed until level 2 is announced.
Its a very good range. 50, 100, 200 and 300 metres.

That tarawera range is amazing. Went there with some mates years ago and actually met @Woody there.
