About 10 days ago my father and i were asked to sort out some pigs that didnt respect the farmers contoured paddocks. We placed a trail cam at the hole under the fence and got a time pattern to set an ambush, 4.45-455pm was the happy hour. A bucket of maize left each night kept their interest and the plan as set.
We had vids of a skinny sow with a bunch of weaners, a boar and a maiden sow so the plan was to shoot the boar and the maiden sow and hope mum and the kids get the message.
Dad shot the boar and just when he was thinking the sow was getting away i put a 60gr B.Tip under its ear (game over)
We were feeling quite chaffed until four days later when the farmer did the haka about new rooting ! we had to finish the job. Lastnight saw me again laying in the wet grass waiting. The AR15 had some new bling ( laser sight) so at least i could play and try not to think about how cold it was (3deg) When it got too dark to see the crosshairs i unloaded and bugger me the pigs came out. After a quiet load up and forward assist i placed the green laser on the sow and let rip, crack-thump down she went. then to finish the job, light up crack, light up crack, light up crack, light up crack. It wasnt fun shooting them but at least i knew the laser was the bizzo.
Now im getting ready for the weekends Jap hunt and was wondering if i should take the fun gun, but will probably take one of the 338s
