Hihitahi safety?

Just wondering about the carpark for the Hihitahi. How safe is it? I assume you park on the side of the state highway?

any info appreciated.

Hi hebe, I have only just joined this forum but Hihitahi is my ole stomping ground, and while I haven't been up there for several years I know the farmer who owns the land by the car park is inclined to lock the road gate, not sure why he does that as he is a good guy ,think he just cant be bothered with guys parking in the paddock off the road.
Last year I was driving past on my way to Palmy and noticed a car parked there on side of road so nothing has changed obviously.
