    Home by 10!

As the weather on the weekends has been somewhat subdued Ive been heading out to sus out new spots. Last weekend things got good for me as the weather turned to shit and I got a nice we stag, although I got messed up in bluffs and supple jack on my way out resulting in having to ditch some weight, frustrating but lesson learnt.

Got up this morning to a calm frost, but as I had a spot I really wanted to get into I wasnt to bothered and was looking forward to a nice walk in the bush. Got in there and it was pretty sweet as far as stalking is concerned, mellow terrain and reasonably open bush. Unfortunately not much deer sign but plenty of pig trails and the odd patch of rooting.

Didnt think much of it because I know bush stalking pigs can be near impossible but on my way out a mob of about 6 or so up and bolted, leaving behind the runt who was unlucky enough to pop its head out behind a tree at which point it copped a 162 grainer to the head. Only little I know but meat on the table none the less and a good end to the morning.

This event also highlighted the fact that although it looks bloody awesome, the knife I bought when I was 18 and thought I was Rambo is really not that practical. Ah well roll on Mrs going back to work so I can go shopping!

Funny story about that knife you know that fulla Matt you asked me about a while ago, when I first got the knife I rocked up to the quarry to hit some goats. After initial greetings he goes "I was thinking about you the other day, I was in the sports shop an seen this f'n big knife an thought to myself theres only one guy I know who would buy something like that" and at that point I pulled it out- "hey I just got a new knife", he pointed at it and pissed himself laughing "thats it!!!"

Great eating that size. Is that a Rem 308 with hand load you used on it?. Very unlucky for the little porker.
