    Honda Civic access

    Howdy and merry Christmas
The wife flew my 20yo son out from the UK for a Christmas surprise.
What a shock to see him sat in the back yard.
So as it's summer and all the goat blocks are closed,is there anywhere in the northern ruahines or Kawekas we can get to in a Honda Civic? We're in Napier.
    Cheers

You can access plenty of good spots from makahu road, middle hill and makino hut tracks.

You can access both off Whittle road, Makahu up the Puketitiri side and all access points on the Taihape road side. I would say the fords at Makahu could possibly get too high after this rain though.
As for the northern Ruahines most of that only just got bombed with 1080 recently and we haven't had a hell of a lot of rain in recent weeks so I would probably give north of Sunrise a miss.
    Good luck
