It works best in other humans thats why they use it. Bow hunters I know virtually ghillie suit and look like trees bushes etc except when they move

You have to remember that DPM clothing is designed to work with/against the human eye and yes it does so very effectively. But for how much longer who knows. I say that because thermal vision aids are commonplace in the military/ para-military/police around the world these days. Most, if not all, fire-parties have a designated marksman with thermal sight capability and individual members may have a mix of thermal or NV. Thermal makes camo somewhat redundant as its not easy to hide from unless you happen to carry a sheet of glass or some such thermal barrier with you to hide behind. Anyhow, back to hunting. If you feel comfortable wearing camo do so, if not don't. Personally sometimes I wear it sometimes I don't, still get animals either way.

After 26 years in the military, I don’t feel the need to wear DPM when hunting. I wear muted dark greens mostly. That said, I think movement and smell are more important than what you’re wearing.

Can't remember who it was on here who posted that bloody incredible video of the whitetail deer that was about 14cm away... didn't they say they weren't in camo? I'd say that answers the question pretty well.

Well I love my realtree Xtra green camo, but after stalking up and shooting a yearling at 12m playing the wind into my face and using the shadows, stalking quietly... I recon I could have done it in jeans and t shirt.....!

Look at the old timers hunting gear, no camo to be seen or army green at the best.

Open top county it may be an advantage to be in similar colors to the surrounding tussock etc...

Best camo by far is a 'Duley Hat'. Deer dont look at legs and bodies, they look at heads. A human head shape and they are gone. Break that shape with a big wide brimmed hat and they dont see a human - look down covering open ground so they cant pick up a face. I have found that the pixilated camo pattern like Hunters element works very well and makes a measurable difference, the other 'Real Tree' types etc dont make any difference at all. A single lightweight HE camo top is all thats needed, then just add and subtract layers under it of whatever wool singlets and fleece you already have. Add a Duley hat and your set

the best camo is to fall over in a wallow like a moron. gives you a nice muted earth colour and helps disguise your smell.

real talk, I've never had a deer or pig care much about me if Im more than a couple of hundred meters away so long as the wind is right.
hunting and fishing do a pink camo shirt that stands out like dogs balls compared to orange and blue, wish they made it in mens

I was testing new thermal cam nets for the soon to be introduced Pinzgauer and LAV, back in very early 00's. For their size and weight they are bloody effective

I'd wear a pink camo fleece of there was one in men's. I wouldn't be seen dead out of the bush in it though.
    And yes, I use a creedmoor. ^^

Identify your target beyond all doubt because you never miss (right?) and I'll be missed.
