7.62x39 is a good choice of calibre also, with cheap ammo. I've got a Norinco and it's dropped everything I've hit with it. My problem is recoil . 6.5x55 is about the best option for power ,recoil , and accuracy a guy could hope for.
mines 120 years old , shoots moa ,
The 96 action needs the lock time sped up and the trigger touched up with a file but other than that its one of the finest rifles ever made.
ill never sell it and doubt ill ever break it.
