    Hunt early May Kaweaka / Kaimanawas

    Hi
    Looking to take a couple of Austys into the Kaweaka / Kaimanawas first week of May for a few days - any thoughts where to go to try to pick up a roarin Sika stag, Low to pick up late cyling hind or high ???

    High for a late cycling hind, but, they are where you find them and a young late cycler can be anywhere

    I wouldn't be to worried about trying to find hinds.
    Stags will still come in to a roar in May. They may not answer but they will sneak in.
    Overkill is still dead.

    Early may has been good for the last few years. Don't worry about it. Never been that keen on high country sika roar action but it can work out.
