This is the third thread about this incident on this forum that I have seen.

I was in Toatoa last weekend hunting. Scary stuff alright and always seems to be hunters shooting guys from their hunting party.

its just bullshit,cant understand how someone can shoot a HUMAN

I have a black lab as well...what does your one do?

Met both these guys while doing a trial in Makara and I have to add that it's more effective than the video lets on. I wasn't even able to acquire the target before the sensor went off.

In my neck of the woods we're a lazy bunch and many of us sit in tree stands waiting for unsuspecting deer to wander over to our bait pile but in NZ it's apparent that something needs to be done. I'm not saying that it should become law but if everyone got on board then wouldn't it make a difference?

I'd be happy to use something like that in New Zealand if it was availiable.

Anything to protect others out there and myself.

It's available for purchase but still pretty expensive.

Unfortunately, unless everyone else on the same block as the guy with the sensor is wearing a vest, then it aint going to work.
I could see it becoming compulsory on some private blocks maybe, and the likes of Woodhill springs to mind. But getting a system of any kind to work on public land is never really going to happen without legislation.
