+1 for the PLB, even when you don’t use it, it is useful, gives you a few less things to worry about so you can concentrate on hunting. My partner and I have one each, neither has ever been used but I feel like we have both had our moneys worth from them. For a long time we shared but I got her one for her birthday a few years back. She is much more willing to do solo trips now or to participate in partial trips that she has to walk in or out of alone.

Never saw that movie, but my dad worked in the Welsh mines when he was a kid leading the horses hauling the coal carts - they'd go blind in the dark and get a bit crotchety sometimes and he had one arm a bit 'buckled' after a horse grabbed hold and proved reluctant to let go. He told me they had axes in those mines for when/if a miner got his arm or leg trapped - they didn't bother with the niceties of digging, they just the victim and themselves out before any more came down.
He never saw it happen, but there were guys in his village who had a leg or arm gone courtesy of those axes.

I've often wondered if they bothered getting the horses out when it turned to shit ?

10 year battery life equates to the cheapest insurance out there I reckon

I don't think you can get one with a 10 year battery anymore since KTI left the market

Yeah that's a real bummer. I wonder if anyone could find out the battery manufacturer so we could source another 1 for when the 10 years is up.
