Hunters Club - Now Free to Air on Prime

Hey all...

Good news for those without SKY Sport, starting Monday the 30th October, The Red Stag Timber Hunters Club will begin airing Monday nights at the quite civilised time of 9.30pm.

It's a replay of the series that just aired on SKY, kicking off with a roar hunt which sees the team split into two groups, one heading into the West Coast and the other to a Central Otago ballot block.

We're pretty stoked that Prime have gotten onboard and shown some trust in the vision we have for the show, so fingers crossed we can educate & entertain a new chunk of the NZ population.

30 November is a Thursday? Do you know if it is the 30th or is it the previous or following Monday? Cheers

Working on a deal at the moment with a UK streaming service, so fingers crossed something comes of that. We get a lot of requests from ExPats and UK based hunters wanting to watch the show.

Will you guys release your programs onto DVDs at some stage?

Yeah, that's a good move for them. I talked to Willie at the Sika Show about it, sounds like they had some fairly restrictive conditions in place with Choice TV. Hopefully the move pays off for them, they're looking for a naming rights partner at the moment and being broadcast on Duke should provide a bit of additional oomph.

I think its brilliant we have multiple hunting programs on NZ television.
The general populace might remember that hunting is in our blood, its essential for game management, its good exercise, its not cruel and its providing organic meat for our families.

The responsibility of all those on TV is to remember that. The general public might not remember a good shot, or a hunters first deer in such a program - but they will remember a gut shot, badly injured, blood and splatter everywhere type event :(

Just watched this weeks episode that recorded from Monday featuring the moraki valley.
Very cool. Glad you guys replaced that barstard old open fire in horseshoe flat hut.
I did a mid winter trip in there to that hut a few years ago. Chrrist it was cold, whore frost the whole walk in, frost on the hut ceiling!
Couldn't get that cunty fire to light so cooked a feed on the gas stove an got some zz's.
In the morning, all my gear was froze. Boots socks gators pants even my boot laces froze solid, had to go stand in a creek to thaw everything out so I could get my boots done up.
By then I thought fuk this, so walked the 5 hrs back out to the highway and home. No deer or sign seen. Never been back since.
Might go back, dunno, definitely won't do another winter trip.

She's pretty warm and toasty in there now, had to open the door at one point as the new log burner was kicking out too much heat.

Was glad to see some deer in there, that yearling was a good neck shot. Nice.:thumbsup:

If anyone has recorded the Aussie Sambar hunt episode on harddrive and somehow has the ability to get it to me electronically or put on disc for me that would be awesome.

I saw it, but my good hunting mate Grant is living back in Aussie now and would love to see it. He's not long just done a solo week long sambar hunt in Victoria and managed to score a nice trophy stag.

A side from cameraman Dave. I think it might be illegal for anyone else to possess a copy of the episodes outside or their mysky recordings.

Maybe pm him to see if he can sort something out.
