    Hunting around Pureora/Ruapehu

Hi guys, Im new to hunting around the taupo area, I've heard that there's decent hunting around in the pureoras or around mt ruapehu, Im not looking for anyone's 'spot X' as i respect it takes a lot of hard yards to find such spots. But a nudge in the right direction of where there's a few animals would be much appreciated.
    Cheers SWB

Try any of the Pureora entry points along the western side of Lake taupo. Piropiro Flats is a nice place to spend a few days, it is in the south block, in from Waimiha.

for the most part, if you stay in the native then you are in DOC land. Walking Access Mapping System is a great site to check out where DOC land is and good satellite views.
