One piece of advice is to keep away from the non-public land areas....the locals get just a little propreitorial over their land, and none more so than around this time of year.

Thanks @Maxx, I’ve been looking at the Topo Maps and see there’s quite a bit of Private land around.

My parents are moving there so will likely visit at least once a month.
