    Hunting in december

    Hi all will be in NZ for December/ early jan, any advice on hunting, don,t mind what it is deer rabbit etc, we are on North Island, whangarei , but can travel anywhere on north island, if anyone off the forum is in the uk at anytime, contact me and I can sort deer hunting for them FOC depending what's in season.

    What dates are you here Taff?
    It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
    What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!

    In NZ we only have seasons for game birds. which isnt december. you can shoot canadian geese tho. they are classified as pests now

    deer are all year round, as are rabbits and all other game.
    DOC permits are required. for public land and their are some rules to follow.

    Whangarei is also a bit limited to pigs and goats for larger stuff.
    Better off heading south a bit, ie central North Island, Bay of Plenty, Wanganui.

    That's a bastard of a time. The lead up to the silly season , the silly season , new years and the aftermath of both
    I would be keen on taking someone for a hunt but cant comit this far ahead.
