    Hunting Hauhungatahi

Hey heading over tongariro park to chase a deer looking at going in around Hauhungatahi, has anyone been in that area lately and are numbers good in this area?

cheers for the reply @sikaroar, Yeah me an the missus went up, didn't push to far as we were late getting in, the track is a bit of a wet slog going up however when you get up in there it is impressive the vast open space. we spent plenty of time glassing to see nothing.. seen a lot of older sign but never noticed anything fresh so they must be around somewhere, it was a very quite area i think we herd only one bird the whole time we were there, totally agree with the frustrating country to walk through even tho its open you have to choose your path wisely. but like you Im very tempted by the challenge and i will be back.

There is a WARO concession for Hauhungatahi so they pick a few off.
