I was told to go hunt mid dome instead because it was accessible from the road. Pity I didnt have a permit for there and it was the weekend! Made for a good climb without the rifle none the less. And as a conciliation found a few likely spots.

But my thoughts are if those people who weren't permitted to hunt in or around the station didnt trespass my odds of gaining permission for a hunt would have been far more likely.

Moral of the story. Pull ya finger (s) out and jump on the net and grab a permitt and ask farmers permission before crossing their land for cripes sake. Its that easy!

Yep believe so. Shortish fellow. Bit of scottish blood in him by the looks if ya know what I mean. Hamish I think it was? ... Shepards were on the hills about to start weining. Dont know if that influenced him. I thought having the decency and permitts would've been good enough.

Slightly off topic but does anyone know where you can get a back country hut ticket on North Shore Auckland. FCO are listed as sellers but when asked give you a confused look :s

I think Macpac shops sell them if you have one of them local. They used to anyway.

Rusky, I have four that you can have. I have had them for years and can't see that I will ever use them now.

Cheers Rushy, but im sure you wouldn't be able to get them to me by wednesday any way. I'll ring around tomorrow, if no luck, im sleeping under the stars which isn't the end of the world.
