    Hunting St James Conservaton Area

Heading to Hanmer Springs for the weekend with the family. Hoping to get out for a day hunt at some point, maybe catch up with the Easter Bunny. Happy to take any advice on the area. Not looking for secret spots or stags, just looking for something to put in the freezer. Appreciate any help as I have hunted in their once before with no luck. I am also happy to do the kms on the feet so no need to keep it easy.

    Cheers in advance

I live here currently and I'm not going near the place over Easter. Try and find a gully with no cars parked up if you can. I'm guessing all the usual spots will be taken by tomorrow night or Friday morning. The Edwards will be full, Timms will have people in it. At a guess around Malling pass up towards Princess Bath might be your best bet and good luck.

Yep been in Hanmer 6 years but leaving in May for a few months travelling, then who knows probably back Nelson way. Work with guys who have been hunting St James for many years and none go out over Easter.
