I am not dead yet, but yet I am in paradise. Anyway that is how I feel.
What a great country you Kiwis live in, I am envious. I am now 12 days into my 2 month trip here in NZ, and what a 12 days it has been.
I have been on several hunts all successful but one ,and that one was in its own way successful to, because it was a Tahr hunt and though I did not shoot a thar I spotted several. That alone was worth the sore feet and the blisters (hunting in the mountains is hard on an old fella from flat country)
So far i have shot wallaby, Hare and rabbit and I have caught Salmon and Trout. Wallaby and Hare makes a great stew and NZ Rabbit is delicious.
A big thank you to all the Kiwi hunters I have met until now (hope to meet more) To the guys that took part in Stugs big bore shoot and wallaby hunt in Kurow, and to the two fantastic fellas who took me with Them up the Macaulay river to the hut where we had 3 amazing days Tahr hunting. I hank them for patiently waiting for me when falling behind and pointing out the tahr for me (hard to spot for untrained eyes)
I am now roaming around the south Island in my campervan enjoying my self and exploring the country, hoping that more hunting opportunities turn up.
Cheers The short Dane
