    I know where you live!

    I will be looking for this Wairarapa chap during the roar. The dog was a pest while I was filming, she was trying look into the camera lens

    Looks like he should be a nice 10, may even sneak another couple of tops on there! Looks like he might have some decent tine length - although he's got that small bez which plagues our herd here.
    We also have a big occurance of one missing bez on our stags, do you guys get that often?

    It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
    What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!

    The nelson herd is legendary for lack of bey tines or very very small bey tines

    And on the wrong side too. I can't shoot on there, it's private land. But there's a good chance he will come over into the bush for hinds during the roar.

    This is the one I saw last year in the same place in the velvet.

    Rippa stag mate, doesn't look to old either with the lighter timber and smaller coronet, might say something about good blood lines in your area!

    If you look closely he is one of those reds with the genitic fault of having a bent face. He's not the first one I have shot like that, but in a different area.

    Yes, the Nth Wairarapa produces some good heads.

    Never heard of that fault, does that effect their ability to feed or anything like that? I'd it common or pretty rare?

    Its rare. Doesn't seem to affect them. Iv'e seen maybe 3 out of many hundreds over 50 years. Wonder what others think?
