No as of last Friday. Wallows clear and undisturbed
Heard a two legged one roaring it tits off on Sunday
Farmed reds were going off their rocker near Maungatautari mountain Saturday arvo. So the wild fellas won't be too far away.
Not as of last Thursday. Few Wallows disturbed. Managed to stalk on a scrubby 6 though.
Stags were replying well on Sunday, this week either side of the weather should be good.
Where I went in Pureora this weekend was dead quite.
Managed to roar in another hunter.
The place has been raped earlier last week. We found two dead bodies with no heads, and the bastards have not even bothered taking the back steaks. What a f..kin* waste.
Went in last weekend, stags on a farm that backs onto the Kaimais were going off their rocker. Didn't hear anything in the bush, found a recently used wallow though which was encouraging
that's pretty standard in the roar mate,we hesitantly took one steak from 2 stags for camp meat the other day, tasted like shit as expected.jizzle and stags is not a good combo.only took it cos a mate in the group said he'd add it to his back country which also taste like shit-Real meals far better!

We used take a bottle of Worcestershire sauce during the roar for one reason only.
When stags are early in the roar , with their guts still full of fat, the meat is actually quite good. I have taken the meat of a few like that and they tasted fine.
Still good enough sausages and salami
