Thread: Karakariki Reserve or other Waikato areas?

Hey guys,
Has anyone had anyone had any luck in the Karakariki doc reserve, mainly hoping to target goats but happy to try and see anything that could be there I'm fairly new to hunting and looking for anything close to the Hamilton area if anyone could point me in the right direction.

Karakariki is awkward to get into, mostly bushed except one small spot behind the back fence about 2 hr from the road that could be OK for bowhunting. And it freaked me out walking bak through cattle at night ...

Pig hunters are in there most weekends, can’t remember the last time I saw a goat in there. Still a nice handy spot for a walk and swim just don’t get your hopes up.

Definitely better places around. Normally 3-7 cars there each time I’ve been to the car park. Remember the farmland is private. They have cameras up as they have a lot of trouble with people cutting through the farm apparently. Big 4x4 event up there this weekend. Have you tried down Kawhia way. Have seen Plenty on side of roads down there
