Yeah mate , sounds like its still pretty much booked up for the roar period . We had a party camping up stream from us a couple hrs walk as well.
The river is easy walking but some deep pools that are bit deceiving with the water so clear.
We got onto stags fairly close to the hut and got within 20 mtrs or so of a couple but still couldn't see them before they twigged us.
I see your location is listed as Perth, i was living there too when we flew into Korohi biv. i've know idea what the deer population is like in there nowdays but i would say probably more deer then 2016, just need a bit oF luck LOL
