Kuripapango camp
Hey Guys,
Thinking of getting away to kuripapango campsite for a few nights after Christmas, any recommendations? Will it be super busy? Will take fly rod in hopes of securing my first fish on dry fly. Should I throw in rifle and walk the river/check some slips?
Cheers!

It's a very popular campsite especially around Christmas. It's a beautiful spot. There's lots of areas to park up so you should find something. You will want to go a bit further to be hunting with any chance. Up river towards the Cameron (still probably plenty of daywalkers, fisho's etc for a long way up) or up Kuri hill and round towards the saddle.

Good idea. With the forecast weather there's every chance it will be seething with people. rifle most probably not much use with that many people around. Doesn't mean the deer are not there, just not advisable at that time of year.
Try and grab a camping spot close, but not too close to the couple of accessways to the river. They become highways with people going for a splash. Then again if you are going after Xmas day, you will be left with only what spots are not taken.
