Thread: Lake Sumner road access

Gday there, was wondering if a AWD Subaru outback would make it up the Lake Sumner road to the locked gate? Have never been in before so thought id ask before trying.

I was in there in Feb, you would probably get to Loch Katrine but I wouldn’t take it any further, there’s a couple nasty bits that you would get bellied on.

I took a Honda CRV in there a few years back. Was very marginal if you value your vehicle. Had to go very slowly and carefully over a few difficult bits. Wouldn't recommend.

I’ve taken a Holden commodore to Loch Katrine, you’ll be fine if you take your time. The track past Katrine is a bit rough

Track is fine to katrine, the worst bits are round lake taylor where taking it slow will work.
The track past Katrine isn't available in the roar to vehicles, station insists on no access. You can mountain bike it though.
