Must have been a pretty small animal....? Or have you (or your canine friends) eaten a good sized portion already?

Young Fallow does not known for being overly large.

.....Still feel like you've eaten the backstraps, tenderloins.....and a few other bits.... (I would be more than happy to be getting that back from my butcher...)

Literally took everything except the bones, the hide, the head and the gutbag, you have to with Fallow, the girls don't have a lot to them.

You're right there. we got 16 kg of meat off the last one which was pretty good for a female I thought .

I got a Spiker a few weeks ago, about 60 kgs of meat off it! All started with a small head attached to a huge neck and carried on down. Paddled heaps of fat out when gutting.

    Greetings 257 Weatherby,
I think I can see some gaps in the container of beer sticks. If it wasn't you or other humans of your household my money is on the hound that is pretending to be asleep. Most envious.

There are indeed gaps, couldn't help it...... the hound pretending not to notice, is exactly the one to be watched, one waits for permission, the other waits for you not to be looking!

That's about what you get from a fallow when broken down. I used to laugh when I was butchering and someone would bring a porker-sized pig in to be cut up. A day or 2 later they'd come to pick it up and I'd carry a full apple box out and put it in the boot. They'd stand there waiting for the rest and looked shocked when you told them that was it.... It's amazing how small an animal packs down when cut up; let alone boned out.

The other goody when they'd want a baconer done and say they want middle bacon, loin chops, 2 shoulder hams, shoulder chops or roasts, leg roasts and 2 hams. You then have to gently remind them that they only brought 1 pig with 4 legs in......

that hound thinks it could fit most of that meat inside itself with no trouble at all...might need to belch n fart a bit,but most of it will fit.
