Thread: Led lenser SE05

Theres a good reason why you carry a spare head lamp/ torch while your out hunting. had my lenser se05 failed luckily while at work. the ribbon (wire) between the battery pack and the fittting broke. Tightlines replace it with a new one, at 18 months old which is sweet.

its pretty average petzel might be the better option. great light the led lenser puts out

Yep, had a few issues with led lensers over the years too. Main gripe with them was burning through the batteries so quickly so when my last one started crapping out changed to a energiser head lamp at 300 lumens. Performing really well thus far, doesn't have the same spot light function of the led lensers. however realised that even with the spotlight function theres not all that much i can practically do with it in any case as walking and work under light is better done with a flood function to which the energiser is more than ample and it has red and dimmed functions. Also WAY cheaper at $20 odd when purchased online. Then if i do need a "spot" light type beam i just use the led lenser p7 torch which has a mount for you scope/bike and a pressure switch activation button for any spotlighting at night if required. Saves way more battery power as the head lamps on alot lower and the torch is just used periodically when scanning openings.

I use the led lensers with the battery pack all in one with the headlight....... Eliminates that issue

The battery life is terrible, and the rechargable batteries dont last that long in my experience after some time. The beam is definately not focused the same on the energiser unfortunatley

These are awesome. On Low power the battery lasts 10 hours plus.

Its a little weighty but very good. I tried the run time on low and gave up after 27 hrs. thats on one 3100 mah 18650.

Ultrafire is hardly a brand, more of a Chinese name for black torch shaped implement.

Look at some higher end Chinese brands like Nitecore, Olight, Armytek (canadian owned) for something that suits your needs and budget.

I run a modded Nitecore HC50 headlamp as a walking/camp/working light and its lasted years of daily use.

Most led lensers that I know were/are Gen 1 LEDs with introductory Gen 1 prices that never moved on. Even the "Chinese black torch shaped implement" will toast one of the "cheaper" ones. Nitecore touches are great I have an SRT7 which seems bullet proof, not as much grunt as a Maxtouch but the ring/switch is great for walking around as you can dial it right back for sneaking around and to avoid blinding yourself.

It seems maxtouch is no longer selling the head lamp. Get a Nitecore I say.
