I use Nosler BT 150gr + H335, shot a lot of fallow up close and everyone has been dead on the spot.

Also to a large bull tahr at 375m... so pretty versatile!

I don,t want any pass through shots when close, bush bloody thick and no dog.

110g Barnes ttsx 46g 2206h,my everything load for anything out to 200m these days.will pass thru for sure but kill really well.also I always want exit hole as it leaves better blood trail to follow if needed, one hole can get plugged up to easy leaving no blood trail at all.

150 gr rn any brand and 2206h, if shooting through foliage they do better than spire points and out to 200 the round nose shape makes bugger all difference in clear country to the trajectory. No need for a boat tail either cos its not long range.

I wouldn't use Accubonds, you wont get them going quick enough out a 16" to expand. You will have runners!

No need for fancy bullets at close range. I'd go BT/SST or standard softpoint. Will work a treat trust me!

I use Sierra 125 gr FNHP (# 2020) in my 30-30, does the job even if it has to go thru a tree on its way! I don't know what accuracy is like out at 200m though. All 30-30 projectiles i have used in my 308 have been devastating on goats, e.g front on shot and find the back leg ball joint lying on the ground as you walk to the carcass.
Speer 130gr HP (# 2005) go well in my 308 in front of AR2008, and definitely accurate to 200m. I see nowadays they are labelled as varmint bullets, the box I'm still using from way back wasn't, maybe just relabelling or maybe bullet has changed.

I,m using Speer 130g HP factory ammo at the moment, they work really well , yeah i noticed they a label as such.Thought Accubonds would be to much for fallow.
I,m really after a good all round projectile for fallow and the odd red out to about 200m.

What @Hunty1 said. Accubonds need to be driven fast to get the best from them.
I used 125 ABs in my 16" 308 for quire a while (mostly on Sika) and they were pretty good (2995 fps) but have gone back to the basic 165gn cup and core soft point, a Speer SPBT. They do the job just as well.
Experience. What you get just after you needed it.

The Nosler web site states that the accubond will expand down to 1800fps is this bullshit then ?.

Hi on Fallow we've been using the 110 Hornady vmax flat bases with 2206 and have got some really good results out of our tika t3 bushpigs.

I Know @Happy really loves the 125 nosler hunting ballistic tips still going flat out with a compressed load of Winchester ball powder in his. Pure knock down power ! Mine just preferred even lighter pils for accuracy and ES and 2206 in mine at 13.5" with a MAE O/B supressor.

125grn ballistic tips or 130grn hollow point speers...both will expand very well so expect some meat damage...you cant make omlet without breaking eggs and you cant stop a projectile in a hurry without the energy going somewhere. place your shot with a bit of care and all is fine...worst case you loose bits of both shoulders....80% of good meat is behind the 3rd rib anyway.

I use 125gn Seirra Prohunters with a good dose of 2208 up their date, 20” barreled Sako.
Bang flop. Fallow, Sika,Reds and Thar no worries.

@zack honestly you won't go wrong with a SST or BT out the bushpig. The 150gr has plenty of wallop out to 400yds if pushed at 2700fps. With a fast powder in a 16'' barrel that should be achievable within safe pressures. Just need the ability to shoot accurately that far...
