    Loch Katrine?

    Looking for some advice!
I'm wanting to go bowl a hind or two over in the hurunui hunting area, but I've been put off parking on the lewis pass side again. There's some mongrels out there!
So I've been thinking about heading in from Loch Katrine.
Has anyone forded the hurunui on foot to get around lake Sumner? Or is there good ground closer to the swing bridge?
Or any other suggestions from the Katrine side?
I haven't been out since back surgery 6 months ago, I'll be stoked to be back in the game.
    Cheers fellers.

My boat got stripped at Loch Katrine... dunno if you'd necessarily be better off leaving a vehicle there. At least it involves a bit more effort to get into though I suppose

    Gah, they're everywhere.
I've camped at loch katrine several times and never had an issue with the vehicle near the camp site.
A boat would be an ideal way to get into the bush through the canal though.

There’s been plenty of rain lately so I’d say you’d have to go up to the swing bridge to cross, the valley floor is farmland until you get up to No3 hut, normally plenty of deer around at the 3 Mile
Shut up, get out & start pushing!
