thanks, my last two shots have been at about the same distance, 7mm rem mag. both goats, which my dog likes, but my freezer is empty of human food!
now that I look again, those horns of yours are a fair bit longer, hes impressive.

Nah sorry mate I left the head stashed in the bush, but I'll be back there again at the end of the week and will run a tape over it then. On reflection I think it going to be more like high 30's, but not above 40''???

I've shot goats with better horn spreads, but the shear overall size of this goat is what's most impressive...he's massive in body size!

I'll be going back there another day, so will put a tape across the horn tips then. I've had delusions of getting one of these mounted, but every taxidermy goat head I've seen still smells like a goat so its put me off doing so.

I mounted one just as skull cap with horns atrached on shield or whole skull. Looks good and no smell just bleach it out a bit to whiten the bone

My best was 34" and its somewhere in the bush. I'd be happy with 38" anyday

38" is a wall hanger KJ you'll be pretty happy with it I expect .
