Good on ya Samba and good luck. I need to get my deer in and drench them and treat them for ticks but I also have a long list of other "want to do's" which includes putting some venison in the freezer but due to time constraints that will not involve getting away hunting so I will probably just dash up the back. I also plan to take a scope off a rifle and replace it with a Leupold that I got back in May. The redundant scope will be going to a good home down south.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms
Good stuff Rushy. I'v never worked with deer, i would imagine it would be good fun. Good luck with the freezer
They are flighty animals to deal with and don't respond to conventional herding technique as sheep and cattle do so you need to remain calm at all times. The most fun time is when I take the hard antler off just before the roar. If I get the timing wrong there is mayhem in the shed and yards.

Used to really enjoy working with Deer. I found the first drenching and tagging of the Fawns ( live wire Springs) need eyes in the back of your head. Getting the breeding Elk off and on the truck had it moments. Sadly the Farm was sold and I lost my contract.
weekend with family..was supposed to be slaying the fish but looking like time on the hill trapping and maybe some time in the pelorus river chasing some sea runs. Will bust out the surfcasters as well.. so plenty to enjoy.
All the same time with my not so young kids (teenagers) will be a precious thing as they're looking at traveling next year.. damn time passes so fast.
keep safe everyone!!

Nil durum volenti !!
would be good to put out long line should the weather let me hanging for some fish
I've got about a billion dog things to do this weekend but am hoping to get the other half out on Monday arvo to knock over a goat Just waiting on ARDave to set me up with a good spot out the back of Wainui, bro!
Also I am a bit saddened looking at the pesticide summary around Wellington is these last few months I've bought a muzzle for the boy after seeing what rat poisoning has done to a couple of dogs in the vet clinic atm.
She loves the free fresh wind in her hair; Life without care. She's broke but it's oke; that's why the lady is a tramp.

Smashing out the study unfortunately. Could you put some photos up if any of you have any luck? That way I can at least sharing in the fun a little bit! Haha won't be long until i can get out, will make sure to post my photos if I too have any luck.
i am off to opotiki area with the good wife and two boys for a bit of r and r in a secret spot. taking trout rod, and of course the shooter incase of a handy deer. also do a few possums on sat nite to get my two boys keen. just hope the damm weather is a bit better that it has been up until now.
I've got two doc blocks to hunt but not sure if we can gain access to one of them as earnslaw have closed down the blocks they run in the same area. Apparently some low life fucked with the gates and stuffed it up for all.
Should be interesting hunting if we can get to the block as there is quite alot of snow on the mountain at the moment.
Will be setting up my new trail camera as well.
Bit too much wind for me to go hunting.. think i might have to get my 4x4 a bit dirty then find a river to wash it in just so i can get it dirty again!
