    Lost bird...

Whilst driving home from Christchurch to Sumner last week, a cock pheasant flew across the road right in front of the van narrowly missing my windscreen. Though I was used to seeing pheasants in my garden back in the UK as I lived in the countryside, I was somewhat surprised to see a pheasant in Redcliffs!

Just thought I might ask what others have seen and been surprised by whilst out and about?

    Matt.

There are rabbit and pheasant in the big reserve/park down the road from my very suburban (Auck) house. Used to be quail too but haven't seen any this year.
Waikumete cemetery is just chocker with game birds, great place to give the dog a bit of practice.

I have pheasants all over my property but not alllowed to shoot them as the misses reckons they are too pretty. What she don't know can't hurt her though!
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

Actually, they (the roosters) are gaudy, chauvinistic, narcissic wallies...I detest them...there is only one place for them...on the table

Ha ha ha ha. Cats are good like that. A couple of years ago I woke up to a duck flying around the lounge. The bloody wall were covered in mus where the mud covered cat had been jumping up trying to catkich it.
