    Try these guys out, seriously good value for what you get. 1084 easy to work and harden but will patena over time however they have a pretty decent range and always seem to be cheaper than getting in NZ, go figure.

    Hi Guy.

    I see this is your first post. I recommend you put a post in the "introductions" section of the forum and tell us a little bit about yourself so people know who they are communicating with

    What sort of knife are you looking to make?
    I can probably sort you out with some 1084, 1095 or O1 depending on what thickness you are looking for, and I am local (Drury).

    Making your own knife is fun work, but costly. Money, time & efforts. If you have a big backyard and some tools and a forge then I recommend to find some wasted bearing or truck spring parts. Years back I have a knife made from bearing parts, well really sharp, can be used as shaver and even would `t need to sharpen it all the time.
