Thread: Mangatawhiri hunt successes?

I want to take my wife and baby for a mooch (hiking with potential) somewhere not too far from AKL (baby probs can't handle a hectically long car journey). It'll be a bit of a hike for the wife who's got cabin fever and an option of putting something in the freezer for me.

Was looking at the restricted hunting block of Mangatwhiri (went there once a couple of years ago and remember very thick bush and bumped one deer).

Anyone had any successes out there?

Other suggestions for hunting blocks that you don't have to commit massive ks to would be welcome.
